Buenos Aires, 14 mayo (NA) — El italiano y n\u00famero 1 del mundo, Jannik Sinner, se impuso este jueves en sets corridos ante el ruso Andrey Rublev (12\u00b0) para meterse en las semifinales del Masters de Roma y consigui\u00f3 un r\u00e9cord hist\u00f3rico.<\/p>\n

Sinner, que atraviesa uno de los mejores momentos de su carrera, se impuso por 6-2 y 6-4, luego de una hora y media de juego, para mantener el sue\u00f1o en el \u00fanico t\u00edtulo de Masters 1000 que le queda por ganar.<\/p>\n

Gracias a este triunfo, el italiano no solo avanz\u00f3 a las semifinales, sino que tambi\u00e9n se convirti\u00f3 en el primer jugador en ganar 32 partidos consecutivos en torneos de Masters 1000 y dej\u00f3 en el camino los 31 del serbio Novak Djokovic en 2011.<\/p>\n

La seguidilla de Sinner comenz\u00f3 a finales del a\u00f1o pasado, cuando gan\u00f3 el Masters de Par\u00eds, y continu\u00f3 en este 2026 con sus t\u00edtulos en Indian Wells, Miami, Montecarlo y Madrid, adem\u00e1s de los partidos que gan\u00f3 estos d\u00edas en la capital italiana.<\/p>\n

Lo m\u00e1s incre\u00edble de este r\u00e9cord es que, durante los 32 partidos, el italiano solo perdi\u00f3 dos sets. Uno de ellos fue el checo Tomas Machac en Montecarlo y el otro el franc\u00e9s Benjamin Bonzi en Madrid.<\/p>\n

De esta manera, el n\u00famero 1 del mundo afianza su liderazgo en el tenis, aprovechando al mismo tiempo la ausencia del espa\u00f1ol Carlos Alcaraz durante estas semanas, ya que tiene una lesi\u00f3n en la mu\u00f1eca que incluso le har\u00e1 perderse Roland Garros, que es el segundo Gran Slam de la temporada.<\/p>\n

El rival de Sinner en las semifinales se conocer\u00e1 esta tarde, cuando el ruso Daniil Medvedev (7\u00b0) se enfrente con el espa\u00f1ol Mart\u00edn Landaluce a las 14 (hora de Argentina).<\/p>\n
