Esta enfermedad puede generar\u00a0<strong>cuadros graves<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>en las personas, especialmente en ni\u00f1os y ni\u00f1as,\u00a0<\/strong>y tambi\u00e9n afecta a los animales.<\/p>\n<p>Los reservorios de esta enfermedad son los perros; y\u00a0<strong>l<\/strong><strong>a transmisi\u00f3n a los humanos\u00a0<\/strong><strong>se produce cuando un fleb\u00f3tomo se alimenta de la sangre de un perro infectado con el par\u00e1sito y luego pica a una persona.<\/strong>\u00a0Cabe mencionar que no se transmite de persona a persona ni por el contacto directo con los animales.<\/p>\n<p>Esta enfermedad puede presentar fiebre prolongada, aumento del tama\u00f1o del abdomen, p\u00e9rdida de apetito y peso, tos seca, diarrea, v\u00f3mitos, anemia e ictericia (coloraci\u00f3n amarilla de piel y\/o mucosas).<\/p>\n<p>Ante la presencia de estos s\u00edntomas, es necesario\u00a0<strong>recurrir inmediatamente a<\/strong><strong>l centro de salud u hospital m\u00e1s cercano<\/strong>. Es importante resaltar que, si el tratamiento no se proporciona a tiempo, puede ocasionar la muerte.<\/p>\n<p>En perros, la infecci\u00f3n ocurre principalmente por la picadura de un fleb\u00f3tomo infectado. En el animal, no tiene cura y, aunque no presente s\u00edntomas, puede transmitir el microorganismo durante toda su vida. Por ello, es fundamental, realizar los controles veterinarios de manera frecuente.<\/p>\n<p>Los principales s\u00edntomas en perros son: decaimiento, p\u00e9rdida de apetito y de pelo, crecimiento exagerado de las u\u00f1as, descamaci\u00f3n (principalmente en los ojos y el hocico), hemorragia nasal y \u00falceras en la piel. En estos casos,\u00a0realizar la\u00a0<strong>consulta veterinaria<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Medidas de prevenci\u00f3n<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Las acciones para evitar la propagaci\u00f3n de la enfermedad se centran en tres ejes principales:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022<strong>Reducir el desarrollo de fleb\u00f3tomos:<\/strong>\u00a0este insecto habita en lugares h\u00famedos y oscuros cubiertos de vegetaci\u00f3n, por lo tanto, es necesario evitar acumular hojas, heces de animales, basura u otros residuos cerca de la casa, as\u00ed como tambi\u00e9n mantener el patio ordenado y desmalezado.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022<strong>Cuidar la salud de los perros:\u00a0<\/strong>impedir que circulen solos en la calle; esterilizarlos cuando no se planifique que tengan cr\u00eda; colocarles collares repelentes de insectos y consultar al veterinario peri\u00f3dicamente.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022<strong>Evitar las picaduras:<\/strong>\u00a0se trata de las mismas medidas que se aplican para evitar la picadura de mosquitos, es decir, utilizar repelentes y ropa protectora (remeras y pantalones largos); colocar telas mosquiteras en puertas y ventanas y cubrir los cochecitos y cunas con tules.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-6190387823963118\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><br \/>\n<!-- publi horizontal --><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-6190387823963118\" data-ad-slot=\"1318105772\" data-ad-format=\"auto\" data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>La leishmaniasis visceral es causada por un par\u00e1sito llamado\u00a0Leishmania Infantum, y se transmite a trav\u00e9s<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":1374,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[11],"tags":[1254,737,1252,762,680,1253,239],"class_list":["post-1373","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-destacadas","tag-animales","tag-enfermedad","tag-leishmaniasis-visceral","tag-ministerio-de-salud","tag-ninos","tag-parasito","tag-prevencion"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.4 -
